Life Skills Academy
Life Doesn’t Come With an Instruction Manual
WYD’s Life Skills Academy gives teens opportunities to practice the everyday skills they’ll need as they grow into independent young adults. Through hands-on activities and real-world experiences, teens learn how to manage responsibilities, make informed decisions, care for themselves, and navigate everyday life with confidence.
We don’t just talk about independence—we give teens opportunities to practice it.

Learning by Doing
At WYD, we believe some of life’s most important lessons are learned through experience. Teens are given opportunities to practice skills in real-world settings where they can ask questions, make decisions, solve problems, and build confidence along the way.
From planning a budget and preparing a meal to learning how to sew, navigating a professional setting, or practicing everyday responsibilities, each experience helps turn knowledge into skills teens can actually use.
Ready for What’s Next
Life Skills Academy is about more than learning how to complete everyday tasks. It’s about helping teens become capable, confident young adults who understand how to care for themselves, make thoughtful decisions, communicate effectively, and handle responsibilities with greater independence.
Our goal is for every teen to leave with skills they can carry into school, work, relationships, their first home, and adulthood.
